How to get into Bhutan
You cannot get into the Kingdom of Bhutan without the contact of the Tour Company in Bhutan. Tour expenses are the fixed rate by the government, which is US$250 per night.
When want to get into Bhutan, the most easiest and convenient way for visitors is through the Bhutan flight. Either you choose Bhutan Airlines or Druk Air. Druk Air operates from Paro-Bhutan to India, Delhi & Kolkatta, Singapore, and Nepal: Kathmandu, Thailand: Bangkok, and Bangladesh: Dhaka. Other routes would be through road. You can travel from the neighbouring towns of India. The nearest town would be Jaigaon under the West Bengal state of India. Most travellers get into Bhutan through the Phuentsholing town of Bhutan. It is just 5 hours car drive to reach Bagdogra the nearest Airport in West Bengal state. Most Indian tourists travel via Bagdogra because of connectivity flights to Bagdogra.
Get into Bhutan by road
The other route by road would be Samdrup Jongkhar and Gelephu Bhutan. But sometimes under the Royal Government of Bhutan directives, the bordering towns closed for tourist because due to security issues. Both towns are located near Assam. Assam is a troubled state of India because due to conflict between the center Government of India and the Bodo people.

You are also allowed to enter or exit Bhutan through the road from the border towns of Phuentsholing, Gelephu, and Samdrup Jongkhar, if you want to mix your trip to Bhutan with a visit to nearby states of West Bengal, Assam and Sikkim, and other northeastern states of India.
